I stayed at the Marianna for a week (August 8th 2007), this was a last minute booking and i have to say it was probably the best holiday we have had for a long time. I went with my three boys as my husband couldn't get time of work. The appts are basic as you would except in Greece, but they were spotlessly clean and adequate for our needs. we were lucky to be on the ground floor by the pool, so we had shade from the trees, no air con but this did'nt cause a problem as there was a lovely breeze most days.
The pool was clean and the boys made lots of friends, playing water volleyball etc, getting a lounger was not a problem, although not a lot of space, this made it easier to talk to people.
The problems with the shower mentioned by other people didn't bother us, and i should imagine it prevents lazy half hour showers, we would have at home, thereby saving water . One of the locals told me they had only a day of rain since the end of april.
The poolside snack bar, served meals which they even brought to our room for us- great when trying to keep kids out of sun at lunchtime. the family that ran the appts, where polite and helpful.
We made many friends here and hope to return next year. I would recommend this place to famiies with children who don't like organised kids clubs-and enjoy making their own fun and couples wanting a relaxing break.

well i went to marianna studios on the 18th july 2007 and its was perfect! i went with me mum dad and friend! the room was very clean although the shower was a nusiance however that didnt bother me! The kitchen only supplied 2 hob rings which were a joke and a kettle so no proper meals were able to be made. which didnt bother us as we ate out every day. the staff were very nice however the owner wasnt very friendly as he didnt speak english. we stayed for 2 weeks and for them weeks i found my stay enjoyable. the pool is lovely and clean and includes plenty of lilows. very quiet area but if you like to go out for a drink there are bars which are open till late ours in the morning which me and my friend found enjoyable. altogether a brilliant holiday hope to visit back soon.

To Wendy Leaman I'm sure you will have a lovely holiday with your children. One thing you can do is go to the Lido waterpark in Mastichari. They run a free bus service from Tingaki square at about 11.15 am and return just after about 4pm. Alternatively you can book with Louise at Theokritos Travel who also runs a very cheap bus trip to the park.
The Marianna studios are quite basic but have the essentials that you would need bearing in mind that most people eat out most days of the their holiday as it's not very expensive. You won't however find a toaster in the apartment nor air conditioning. In August though, some days get quite breezy and you may not feel the need for a/c anyway. The Marianna has its own pool but you are free to use any pool of any hotel in the resort as long as you purchase something from their pool bar (which is quite understandable).
My own restaurant is right next door to the Marianna apartments - Sagittarius Restaurant - and we have a very varied menu and a kid's menu. Of course, there are many other eateries in Tingaki so you will be quite spoiled for choice.
Other acitivties in the area include horse riding in Marmari and go carts on the road to Marmari (about 15/20 minutes walk from Tingaki).
Tingaki beach itself is lovely - sandy with a huge choice of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire.
I hope you have a lovely holiday.

Well. it wasnt bad. the room it self was ok the bathroom was a joke. window what window. shower if thats what u call it. as soon as 1 person had had a shower the room was covered in water all u had was a shower stand u have to use the shower head with you hands so the bathroom was wet through after 1 person had had a shower. there was nothing to claen the water up with u got no extra towels the cleaners didnt understand any english. we was on the top floor on the front it was ok apart from a bit of traffie noise early morning. as for getting an late cheak out room. you could only have that if no one was coming into your rom they didint find u another roo to go in. the showers that we had to get ready in there was no lights and only 2 showers. leavin your baggage leavin at your own risk tell me about it. they wasnt even in a secure room. but i didnt let all this spoil my 4th year in kos. i will definatly be goin back to mythos appartments not marianna. |
