Marianna Studios
(Apartments in Tingaki)

6/10 phil hammond (June 30, 2009)

Just Returned from Mirianna Studios, The rooms are clean and basic, beds were comfortable but had to ask for second pillow. air con is in the apt, but at a cost of £50 per week. They only supply the 1st toilet roll, the reason they give is that you are self catering, but i felt a toaster would have been helpful, oh, no hairdrier, they like to hire them, if you want a fan, they also hire them too £15 a week. The pool is nice it is cleaned every morning along with the pool area opens at 9am closes at 7pm. The pool bar is nice its a little tucked away, and you pay a premium for using this, but not too bad. the bar area is at the front of the apartments, but neer seemed to have any atmosphere, we was in rooms 302 and 303, which had balconys overlooking the road and bar, the road noise can be load from speeding cars and loud scooters all night.Overall this is not a bad location to stay with a steady 800yds walking distance to the beach, and 100yds to supermarket and bus stop.

I Just want  to give the information that this year all the rooms at Marianna have air-condition. There was a confusion last summer because of  a mistake on the broshure which definately wasn't on purpose by anyone.

Came back  from kos on 3rd july 2008, had a brilliant time. marianna studios is a great place to stay, although me and my friend didnt spend much time at the apartments it had everything we needed. our room was much better than expected, decent size and balcony with views of tingaki. although there is no air con in the rooms we didnt find it to uncomfortable but must admit it did get quite warm at certain times of the day but that can depend on where your room is.  was extremeley clean, and our room was cleaned almost everyday. distance to the beach was about 10 mins walk not to bad really! Overall had a fab holiday and would definatly return, in fact im looking at booking another holiday for here at the and of august! Thank you  x

So here we go again. All bars and restaurants are excellent and prices are fair.
Marianna Studios are 1st class, suitable for all, service is also 1st class.

We returned, as promised to Marianna this year. A fabulous complex ran by an enormously friendly, warm and welcoming family. Fantastic location, spotlessley clean, great pool with fab pool bar ran by Stella who makes the most amazing breakfasts...!!. Maria takes care of reception and the upstairs bar and is always happy to look after your every need, day or night. Our second year in Tingaki and once again we laughed so much everyday, and night time in the bar is always a giggle...!!!  This is the only time i have ever returned to a resort the year after, we had such an amazing time. The First Choice Rep is fab..!..Her name is Jacki and she is around all the time. Nothing is a trouble to her, best holiday rep i have ever encountered, keep up the amazing work Jax..!!!   The only tears we shed were tears of laughter and huge tears of sadness upon leaving....Love to all the family, and good luck to Maria and her future husband...x   love Jo and Roni...(314) x

I stayed at the Marianna for a week (August 8th 2007), this was a last minute booking and i have to say it was probably the best holiday we have had for a long time. I went with my three boys as my husband couldn't get time of work. The appts are basic as you would except in Greece, but they were spotlessly clean and adequate for our needs. we were lucky to be on the ground floor by the pool, so we had shade from the trees, no air con but this did'nt cause a problem as there was a lovely breeze most days.
The pool was clean and the boys made lots of friends, playing water volleyball etc, getting a lounger was not a problem, although not a lot of space, this made it easier to talk to people.
The problems with the shower mentioned by other people didn't bother us, and i should imagine it prevents lazy half hour showers, we would have at home, thereby saving water . One of the locals told me they had only a day of rain since the end of april.
The poolside snack bar, served meals which they even brought to our room for us- great when trying to keep kids out of sun at lunchtime. the family that ran the appts, where polite and helpful.
We made many friends here and hope to return next year. I would recommend this place to famiies with children who don't like organised kids clubs-and enjoy making their own fun and couples wanting a relaxing break.

well i went to marianna studios on the 18th july 2007 and its was perfect! i went with me mum dad and friend! the room was very clean although the shower was a nusiance however that didnt bother me! The kitchen only supplied 2 hob rings which were a joke and a kettle so no proper meals were able to be made. which didnt bother us as we ate out every day. the staff were very nice however the owner wasnt very friendly as he didnt speak english. we stayed for 2 weeks and for them weeks i found my stay enjoyable. the pool is lovely and clean and includes plenty of lilows. very quiet area but if you like to go out for a drink there are bars which are open till late ours in the morning which me and my friend found enjoyable. altogether a brilliant holiday hope to visit back soon.

To Wendy Leaman

I'm sure you will have a lovely holiday with your children.  One thing you can do is go to the Lido waterpark in Mastichari.  They run a free bus service from Tingaki square at about 11.15 am and return just after about 4pm.  Alternatively you can book with Louise at Theokritos Travel who also runs a very cheap bus trip to the park.

The Marianna studios are quite basic but have the essentials that you would need bearing in mind that most people eat out most days of the their holiday as it's not very expensive.  You won't however find a toaster in the apartment nor air conditioning.  In August though, some days get quite breezy and you may not feel the need for a/c anyway.  The Marianna has its own pool but you are free to use any pool of any hotel in the resort as long as you purchase something from their pool bar (which is quite understandable).

My own restaurant is right next door to the Marianna apartments - Sagittarius Restaurant - and we have a very varied menu and a kid's menu.  Of course, there are many other eateries in Tingaki so you will be quite spoiled for choice.

Other acitivties in the area include horse riding in Marmari and go carts on the road to Marmari (about 15/20 minutes walk from Tingaki).

Tingaki beach itself is lovely - sandy with a huge choice of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire.

I hope you have a lovely holiday.

We have stayed at the marianna apartments 8 times, the staff can not be faulted in any possible way, the are friendly at all times, they bend over backwards to make your stay as comfortable and happy as they possibly can.Maria and Stella who are sisters couldnt be more friendly towards anybody who stays there, and always have time to stop and talk and try to help in any way. Their parents are also the same but find the english language harder to understand. We know people that return year in and out and find their stay just as pleasurable. The apartments are basic but clean and nice. The sheets are changed often and so are the towels. The cleaners are in the room everyday and  we never found a problem with the cleanliness. Over the years we have made lots of friends that also come back every year. I have friends that have no access to a pc and would like me to talk for them, lorna being one of them.We will certainly be returning to the Marianna again and again, and i would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for making our holiday one of the best weve encountered.... THANKYOU MARIANNA!!!

Well. it wasnt bad. the room it self was ok the bathroom was a joke. window what window. shower if thats what u call it. as soon as 1 person had had a shower the room was covered in water all u had was a shower stand u have to use the shower head with you hands so the bathroom was wet through after 1 person had had a shower. there was nothing to claen the water up with u got no extra towels the cleaners didnt understand any english. we was on the top floor on the front it was ok apart from a bit of traffie noise early morning. as for getting an late cheak out room. you could only have that if no one was coming into your rom they didint find u another roo to go in. the showers that we had to get ready in there was no lights and only 2 showers. leavin your  baggage leavin at your own risk tell me about it. they wasnt even in a secure room. but i didnt let all this spoil my 4th year in kos. i will definatly be goin back to mythos appartments not marianna.

We stayed in the Marianna Studios in August 06 and found some parts not to our liking. The room was cleaned most days but bedding & towels where not changed for the whole week we where there. The pool was nice but very over crowded and you had to get up early to put your towel on a sun lounger if you wanted one. I did not find the hotel staff as happy or friendly as some had said. The rooms where very basic and for self catering you really could not cook very much with two hot rings. Everything about the hotel was about saving money so you where only provided with the minimum not even toilet paper.

The worst part we found along with many others leaving the same night was being evicted or that's what if felt like. With most hotels you have to vacate the rooms by 12am here was the same but we where the lucky ones we where picked up by (Last Choice) at 10.30pm some had to wait until 04.30am so yes 15 hours sat at the front of the hotel waiting. You can extend your stay on your last day till 6pm wow !! and that will cost extra 20 euros. All luggage is left in a holding area where anyone can do what they like to it and yes the hotel excepts no responsibility to your luggage, Where's the security ?

It felt like the hotel had said you have had your holiday now get out !!!

Well would I go back ? not on your nelly

And for anyone who has booked already look at the faces of the people outside the hotel when you are entering, That will be you in a week or two.

Most years we back pack in Greece so we are not in to 5 star hotels but this was not a good experance.

The Pics are of the luggage area where you have to leave your belongings unattended and of the rooms which where ok. Oh yes and the view

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Marianna Studios in early July 2006. We'd read mixed reviews about the place saying there were good and bad blocks and some rooms werent very clean.

We believe we got one of the rooms in the 'worse' block, but it wasn't bad at all. As people will have said before there is no shower stand and you have to hold the head of the shower whilst using it but you get used to it after a while.

Also for a self catering studio we didn't think the 'kitchen' was up to much. You are resticted as to what you can cook because there is only a fridge, kettle and two hob rings and a sink. Cutlery and utensils are provided but you will need your own washing up liquid etc. There's a very handy supermarket 2 minute's walk away (turn right out of the hotel) selling everything you need.

There is no air-con, though you can hire fans from reception. We were lucky as we had a ground floor studio which didnt get too hot because of the shade from the trees next to our balcony.

The pool is excellent with lots of inflatables and sunloungers and there is a mini bar next to it which serves food and drinks until about 7pm. There is also a bar next to reception which serves drinks until 2am and has a big widescreen tv (they showed all the world cup games whilst we were there!)

Depending where your room is you might find it's a bit noisey at night from all the mopeds flying past but we found this soon quietens down.

Overall a very pleasant place to stay!
