I am not sure when the post below was dated, but the first bus from Tigaki to Kos does not leave until 09.25.Hrs. so you would need to take a taxi to Kos Harbour.

4 of us going to kos, in 6 weeks, staying in tingaki, would love to go on the 3 island cruise on the katerina. Can anyone tell us how easy it is to get to Kos town from Tingaki for the 10am sailing.

click to enlargeWe did the 3 Island cruise onboard the 'Kristina' and would thoroughly recommend it. It was probably the best day of our holiday! you get to see 3 beautiful Islands, have the most gorgeous cruise in the sun and have a BBQ meal onboard too. Wonderful day.

Found a lot of info about the Katarina boat, but does anyone have some more info about the San Maria boat?
Maybe a website or something ...

Had a fantastic day, can't remember the last time we laughed so much whilst still sober! Only got on this boat by chance as had booked the night before to sail on the Karoline. At 9:55 the captain of the Karoline said he wouldn't take us as not enough people on board. So I swiftly legged it to the Katerina and Capt George luckily agreed to take us - so glad he did. We did the trip on the 2nd day of our holiday but wished we had saved till the end as it was the highlight of our holiday . Such a friendly, fun loving crew - definitely recommend to anyone.

The Sailing Boat  KATERINA - KOS HARBOUR.

After about 6.00.pm in the evening and before 9.30.am the morning KATERINA is situated about halfway along the Harbour in KOS TOWN opposite the FLAMINGO BAR. It does the 3 Island Tour in the daytime from about 10.00.am until 6.00.pm. I can't tell you the exact price as it varies year to year but it is about €20/25. Euros  for adults, children are less and it includes the trip plus lunch and a few small snacks on board.
The KATERINA is a family run boat, There is GEORGE, the Captain and his wife KATERINA,(Hence the name of the Boat). They are very friendly and nice people and will do their very best to ensure that you enjoy yourselves. Over the years they have become very good friends of mine and I would recommend this boat .

It leaves The Harbour in KOS TOWN at about 10.00.am and the first stop is a small Island named PSERIMOS where it stays for about 1 hour, it has a very sandy beach and is ideal for children. When you return to the boat, they serve you with a BBQ Lunch.
The next stop is KALYMNOS, known as the sponge Island. After arrival in Kalymnos you can spend time looking around the shops, having a drink or coffee and you still have time to visit the sponge factory where they give you a brief talk about sponges and then you have time to purchase some if you want to, there is NO pressure to do so but the sponges are very good. Then  you return to the boat and the next stop is PLATTI where the KATERINA drops anchor and you can go snorkeling or swimming. Back on the boat for a refreshing piece of melon or apple. Then it is up with the sails and back to KOS town. If you are very lucky you may even see the Dolphins, about a 5/10% chance, make sure that you take your camera.
REMEMBER THE ORDER OF STOPS CAN VARY, but you do visit the 3 Islands and have a BBQ Lunch served on the boat.

There is plenty of room to sunbathe on the sunbeds on the boat, and they have a bar which sells drinks at very reasonable prices. It is a GOOD trip and many people go more than once, so do go EARLY in your holiday.

Maria boat is a must for the 3 island cruise, the captain and crew are amazing, they are such good fun, they make you feel very welcome, and they make sure you have the best time ever!!., included in the price is a BBQ lunch which is all fresh meat, salad and Tzatziki and it is delicious, and the islands they take you to are amazing, you visit Pserimos, Kalymos and Plati and also provide life jackets for swimming and fishing rods if you fancy doing a spot of fishing. We went on the Maria 3 times, 2 of which was the 3 island cruise and once to watch the sunset on the sunset cruise in the evening, all 3 trips were absolutely brilliant, can't wait to go back next year!! Once again we went to Kardamena on 9th May 09. We were hoping to again go on the 3 island cruise with the Katerina from Kos Town harbour but it was a little too early in the season so we went on the trip booked through Harriet travel in Kardamena - leaving from Mastichari on the Monday morning. It was 25 euros and was exactly the same trip as Katerina  (Probably easier as you get the return coach included in the price) however although we enjoyed the day we thought the one on the Katerina was more of a fun day with more things happening on the boat.
Once again enjoyed the day but would always try to get the Katerina if possible - IT'S THE BEST.

My husband and I went to Kos Town in August. We decided to book on the Katerina because it had such good reviews. I would highly recommend this boat. The captain and crew are very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely, and the entertainment was great. In fact we enjoyed the day so much we booked again for a few days later. Again we had another fabulous day and on the way to the third island saw dolphins!!!!!. We stayed at least half an hour while the dolphins swam round the boat. If you go to Kos make sure you book on the Katerina, you will not be dissapointed.

We booked to go on the Katerina boat but due to a high wind at sea on the day the boat wasn't allowed to leave the harbour. We transferred on to a pirate looking boat called the Kalymnos Express. This was fantastic ! The american/greek lady that runs this with her family was really helpful. We got a spot on the upper deck with mattresses, so go early to grab one of these, definately the best place on board.
The 3 islands were lovely and you get a barbeque lunch and watermelon later included.
Would recommend the Kalymnos Express it was fab !

The three island cruise was the most relaxing experience of my life.  What better way to see the Greek islands than sunbathing on the deck of a boat, stopping for a bbq lunch.  Totally amazing day, we went on the Aprodite but the Katrina does sound good having read the reviews now we've got back.  The weather has been great this past week so the trips were still availabe and we went on Friday, 19th October. What a lovely place Greece is and the people are wonderful.

Went to try to book the Katerina.  Was really looking forward to it.  We waited until the second week of our hols, which was the end of the 1st week in October.  Unfortunatley this boat had fininshed the day b4 and had headed off for the winter.  So if you want to do this trip make sure it's by the 1st week in October, or you will be like me, very dissapointed.

Have just returned from Kos and took the advice of many of your contributors and went on the 3 Island Cruise on the Katerina. My wife and myself were delighted with the cruise and were glad that we followed the advice provided. This was without doubt one of the best cruises that we have ever been on and Captain George is the best host that you could have, he has such enthusiasm for making sure everyone has a good time and the last leg of the trip when the sails were hoisted was something that should not be missed. We did not see any of the other vessels that do the 3 Island cruise raise their sails like the Katerina. Also the Pirate cameo, the greek dancing, and the take off of the scene from the Titanic, were hilarious. We are planning to return to Kos next year and have already decided that we will again take the 3 Island cruise with Captain George. Thanks George and Katerina for an unforgettable day.

The 3 island cruise on the Katerina  is very good value for money. George and his family are great hosts and kept us entertain, with a good lunch at a local traverna on Kalymnos and swimming off the island of Plati. Even my wife enjoy the cruise and she isn't a lover of boating.

Beware there at least 10 other boats in Kos Town harbour offering 3 island cruises for 20 euros each, as same the Katerina but they only offer BBQ lunch.

We had a wonderful day out on the KATERINA on 14th June.   We were welcomed personally by George  his lovely wife Katerina and crew member Georgious who were the most excellent hosts all the way there and back.  We left Kos harbour at 10.00 am in the morning and headed off to the music of Zorba the Greek and lot of joviality.  George met everyone on the boat personally and we all felt like part of the family by the end of the day.  We harboured at Pserimos in the morning and had an hour to have a look around and have a coffee.  We were welcomed back onto the boat with Ouzo a snack and encouraged to do Greek dancing with George.  We didn't need much encouragement after the Ouzo.  Setting off again to Kalymnos where we had a very nice lunch at a 'proper' Greek restuarant on the harbour (there was a choice of 7 or 8 meals).  We again had time to look around.  Back to the boat and more drinks and off to Platti for diving from the boat, swimming and snorkelling and water melon.  George and his family made friends with all the passengers and were on first name terms with everyone by this time.  On the way  back into Kos harbour we all joined George on deck for a more Greek dancing, photos  and dressing up (won't say too much - wait and see !!!) and the LOTTERY to which there were 3 prizes - the lucky winners were overwhelmed !!!   The best day of our holiday.  Thanks to George, Georgious and the 2 very lovely KATERINA'S.  If you are going to Kos for a holiday don't miss this.

Sorry but have to disagree. We thought the best was KATERINA.
This day was fantastic - 20euros and that includes lunch as stated. The captain was really nice bloke and the rest of the crew also lovely, lovely trip and excellent value for money. Another good thing they have a bar on board and the drinks are really cheap which really surprised us as you usually find them a bit expensive on such trips
I would recommend this trip to everyone and will definitely be going on it the next time we are in Kos.

The best trip in Kardamena is on the boat Aerlos with Vasilis and yurgos (sp) They make you feel really welcome and the food is lovely. The whole trip is great for sunbathing and relaxing. I'm there beginning of June and can't wait  The sunset cruise is great too, especially the cocktail you get as part of the cruise.!!   Just love Kardamena
