Bahamas Hotel - (Accommodation in Kos Town)

Fi

My boyfriend and I visited Kos from 7/7 to 21/7 and we though this was a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly, and the pool is a lovely size. I would definitely recommend it, especially the bbq/karaoke night.

Blues Brothers - (Bars in Kos Town)

Fi

My boyfriend and I visited this bar most nights on our two week holiday. We loved it! The music is fantastic and the staff are lovely (especially Merie the Finnish waitress...she was a peach!). I would definitely recommend this bar. We miss you, Blues Brothers!

Day trip to Turkey - (Kos Excursions)

Fi

My boyfriend and I travelled to Turkey on the Maria Star and the day started fine. Until we started moving away from the harbour, that is, and then sailed to the other side, got off and queued (well, it was hardly a queue - more a huge mass of people) for an hour on a blazing hot day. This was all to get our passports checked. People were pushing and shoving, and we couldn't get inside even though our boat was being called. Everyone was really irate and one girl nearly fainted and couldn't go on the trip! I can't imagine why there's not a better queuing system as severel boats travel out every day. If we were warned this would happen when booking, it wouldn't have been half as bad. Despite that little moan, the trip was quite enjoyable.

We took the city tour which was good because the coach was air conditioned! We did look around the market, but we didn't buy anything. Bodrum is a beautiful place, with it's pretty harbour and rows of little white-washed buildings. This trip was also so much cheaper than booking through our rep, at around 14 euros each. I probably wouldn't go on this trip again if I ever returned to Kos, but I recommend it to people if they've never been to Turkey before. It's a good way to get an idea of the place without committing yourself to a weeks holiday there.

3 Island Cruise - (Kos Excursions)

Fi

The trip we went on was a 2 island trip and a little more expensive than other trips. We went on the Archangel Michael sailing boat. There were only 20 ish of us, so there was plenty of room to spread out and everyone on board was very friendly. The crossing to the first island (Kalymnos) was so rough, I was soaked when we got there as I had been lying on the sunbeds. I soon dried out when we arrived at the secluded bay, though, which the owners of the boat sort of own. We had a bbq which was delicious and filled me up! We went swimming in the waters and snorkels are available to see the sponges underwater.

We then sailed to Pserimos and stopped in the pretty harbour/beach/town area. After an hour, we got on board for some fruit salad and the crossing home.
I would definitely recommend this trip, it is very relaxing and on the way back the crew put up the sails, turned of the engine and sailed us home. That was actually pretty scary as the boat was lurching all over the place, but a great experience none the less!
