Restaurants in Tingaki

I checked out the info on this website before going on holiday to Tingaki.  As the Meni seemed to have favourable reports my partner and I decided it was a must for us.  How disappointed were we, VERY. The service was okay, the price reasonable, the food was terrible.  As a vegetarian the Greek food is usually very good for me, I ordered the stuffed tomatoes they were tastless, the veg that came with them had been cooked to death. When asked if my food was alright I told the waitress I was not happy she then tried to tell me that because it was a vegetarian dish.  My partner had the stuffed tomatoes with meat in them but he couldn't really find any meat.  This is the one eating place that we both decided we would not return to.

Absolutely superb is the only way to describe Meni.  Location, service, quality of food, menu choice - just eveything was fabulous.  We went several times and Meni will definitely be getting many return visits when we go back; hopefully in the not too distant future

One of the best in Tingaki by far, well worth a visit.  Good friendly service, delicious food.  I had one of the Chefs Specials - Pork fillet in pineapple sauce, served with baked potatoes, broccoli, carrots, rice and salad.  My husband had Steak a la Creme - both very good indeed.

wow... i have been to tingaki 6 times in 5 years. my wife has been 4 times with me.  we got married in kos june 3rd 2004. love the island, best place to be watching the world go by is MENI.. the food is unbelievable, service excellent, price excellent.  we stay at MENI BEACH every year there is no other hotel/restaurant that comes near it in terms of hospitality and FOOD..    we had  our families with us for the wedding they all loved it aswell. the reception was held at MENI. the spread MIKE cooked was more than we asked him to do..  well i am biased both MIKE and GABRIEL were bestman at my wedding..   service is slow some nights as people comment but when the food is cooked fresh and the size of the portions are huge we dont care....

ive been to tinkagi 5 times and my fiance has been 7 times,  meni restaurant has always been our favourite.  the food is gorgeous in massive portions and michael, cia and the gorgeous gabrio are so friendly and welcoming.  service is bit slow some nights but michael works 13 hours with no break on his own most days in kitchen so doing fantastic considering.  and it is all fresh food.

My friend and I (both 24 and female) have just come back from 2 weeks in Tingaki and had a BRILLIANT holiday!   We ate at the Meni and were very impressed. We paid about 22 euros and had: 1/2 cicken and all the trimmings, chicken breast and all the trimmings, glass of wine each, bread, 1 coffee, 1 bottle of water and 2 peach schnapps (they gave us with our bill!) and they supplied a little bowl to wash our hands in! (though we used knives and forks--not our fingers!!)  The service was brilliant!!! Defo go there if you get the chance!

the meni was very good
the staff were great, yes the service was slow but when it's cooked fresh it usually is?
dont go to the meni if you are in any hurry,in greece do what the greeks do!!!
if you want fast food go to macdonalds?!**

Laura S

The staff here are friendly and really seem to try to help you it just seems to happen slowly or with reminding. However the food was really nice with good portion sizes, if you are not ravenous when you arrive try it!!

Sue P

The quality of the food and service were superb. I would recommend this to anyone who has a large appetite as the chef was very generous with the quantity of food he served. The waitresses were very friendly and made us feel so welcome each time we went there.

Chris

The staff ran around like headless chickens but didn't seem to get much done. Waited ages for the food and the bill.

Angie S

We found the staff at the Meni overbearing and patronising. The food was ok, but we had to wait ages for the bill when we'd asked for it. The little snack bar opposite was far better, friendlier and the glasses were kept in the freezer, making the Amstel really cold! Prices good there too.

We were on holiday 6th/13th May and ate in Meni 4 times out of the7 days we wre on holiday.Even though the other resturants and people of Tingaki are all so welcoming we found the staff in Meni to be something else.I dont think i have ever experienced such warmth and kindness by anyone and the food was out of this world!

Also visit Andy (Chubby Brown) in the Pergola Bar in the hotel forecourt. Great bloke, wonderful music - a really great pit stop.

Really cannot speak too highly of this place.

Michael is the nicest guy in Tingaki, the meals we have had in his restaurant have been brilliant. The other year it was our daughters birthday on our last day. I asked him to get a birthday cake which he gladly did and all the staff sang to her, the cake was out of this world, better than I could have expected. He does the meanest milk shakes and huge 'T' bone steaks. We are going this May and the first job will be to meet all our old friends in Tingaki and have breakfast at Michaels, just sit and watch the world go by. Great !!!!

michael makes a fantastic breakfast which also you could have as a brunch, after all they give very generous portions, starts with fresh orange juice, tea or coffee, toast and jam, then a huge fried english breakfast, with real english sausages, with chips!!! all for under 5 euros in our mind michals the top dog for making breakfasts in tingaki!!
