We will be staying at the Neptune Hotel in Kos soon. Are there any local tavernas nearby (within 30 minutes walk) for lunchtime food and drink

Fantastic hotel, was not what we expected. We had a two bedroom apartment, each bedroom en-suite, three balcony's and a patio and three bathrooms!  just what was needed with two teenage daughters! The hotel food was very good and the service was excellant. Extremly clean resort and very modern. The Brits were the third nationality in the hotel after the Germans and the Italians, this made the evening entertainment rubbish, but being British we all found a local taverner which was used by the locals and the staff in the hotel, the evenings there went on into the small hours. Big screen TV for the footie!! The Greeks loved the Brits and despised the Germans as much as we did...! The hotel resort was brilliant, loads to do, plenty of room to relax. Beach towels provided by the hotel and all the pools were good with enough sunbeds for the whole island! Beach is sandy and long, with good water sport facilities. Dont bother with the "Paradise Beach"excursion, its not as good as the beach here. Overall the holiday was great and will be hard to match let alone beat.
