Aphrodite - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

My boyfriend and I went here a couple of times during our weeks stay in Kefalos and had lovely meals.  It was great to see the chef cooking on the BBQ at the front of the restaurant.  The mix grill for 9.50 euro was excellent value - loads of BBQ'd meat to eat including pork chop, village sausage, lamb chop served with chips and salad.  Don't forget to ask for your free brandy shot!

Rainbow - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

Another good restaurant in Kefalos with a nice greek atmosphere.  My boyfriend had the snapper fish dish and thoroughly enjoyed it.  The boss is quite comical with his shouting and humour.  He also did a bit of greek dancing and dragged us up to.  Great place.

Theologos - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

What a FANTASTIC restaurant.  We discovered this place May 2006 but was staying in Lambi at the time so could not watch the sunset.  We came back and stayed at Billy's so my boyfriend drove us here.  Came here twice this year. Can not fault this place - great location, fantastic sunset, quiet beach, delicious food plus to top it all, I got to proposed to on the beach.  We tried the greek salad with chicken, pepper chicken (fantastic rich sauce), shrimp spagetti with mushroom and cream sauce.  There home made honey cake with ice cream is lovely.  It is well worth the drive across the mountains.  Excellent value too.

Kardamena Resort - (Resorts on Kos)

Clare W          1/10

Visited Kardamena twice this year during the daytime.  Its a lovely place - quieting down for the season now.  Please be warned we were ripped off by the indian henna tattoo man who sells the sponges on the seafront.  There were no prices on anything and we kept asking how much for each tattoo and hair braid.  I had a small heart on my ankle, my boyfriend a band around his arm and a hair braid - 60 euro - WHAT A CON.  We had the tattoo on our last day there and 2 days later it is already fading badly - not  good quality either.  This was the only down point of our holiday to Kos this year which is a shame.

Manolis - (Car Rental on Kos)

Clare W          9/10

We hired a Daewoo Matiz open top (we usually have a fiat seicento open top but we were laughed at when we asked for one of those saying it was an old  car!!!)  We paid 110 euros for 5 days which I didnt think was too bad.  no problems with the car - economical and solid.  When we returned the car they didnt even come out and have a look over it.  Very trusting.  Would use again.

Billys Studios - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

Clare W          10/10

What a great little place to stay.  Would highly recommend.  Its about 15 minutes walk to the seafront but it is nice and quiet (although not great sound proofing).   The studio's are compact and basic, but all you need for a base.  They were cleaned every two days with fresh towels which was nice. Connie made great breakfasts and greek salads at very good prices..  The pool is a great size for a complex with only 16 studios.  The sunset rep was helpful but not pushy and left us alone.  The family of cats are lovely too.  They like the noynoy milk if you go and visit.   Air con was available at 5 euros a day.

September - (Best Time to Visit)

Clare W          10/10

We came out here 26th September 2007 for a week - great weather all the time - must have been high 70's early 80's all week.  There was a nice cool breeze in Kefalos.
