Kos Town - (Resorts on Kos)

Emma M

Hi - Me and 2 g'friends (aged 22-26) are going to Kos Town, staying at Olgas Paradise apartments, on 22nd July 04. Does anyone know what these apartments are like and is it far to go from Kos Town to Kardamena for a night out? Are taxis expensive? Also, where are the best beaches? Thanks

Have just come back from Kos Town, stayed at Olgas Paradise apartments. The setting was lovely, very peaceful and quiet, excellent pool area and nice big room. View from balcony was rubbish (a sort of grassy area which was pitch black at night) and we had some issues with our Manos rep Roxy and Olga herself re the patio doors not locking - the couple next door to us woke up one night and there was a bloke in their room but still no-one would move us or fix our patio door and we had to jam the chairs up against them which still wasn't safe enough for three girls on their own and made the apartment extremely hot! We were there for a week but towels and sheets never got changed. Walking from our apartments into town where Goodys and Bar Street is was more like a 30 min trek than a 10 min strole! Still it was very pretty along the harbour. We didn't have much joy on our first outing to bar street, being grabbed and pulled in every direction and not finding any other british people to speak to put a downer on things. However the bar crawl with the Karda Mingers on Sun night was fantastic and we took full advantage of the free shots! I'd recommend going to Paradise Beach where the bubble beach is as that was very beautiful and hot! and the old town in Kos Town is really nice for people-watching and shopping for belts and bags. Would definiately go back to Kos Town but with my boyfriend as it is more for couples.
