Athinoula Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

Steve T

My wife and I have been to the Athinoula for the last three years the first two weeks in August. We have met some good friends there in other guests particularly Dave and Val from Corby who have been there four years running. The family dog is never any trouble and I've never heard it bark at 5.30 in the morning. The Hotel and rooms are cleaned daily as is the the pool ,I talk to the cleaners from my balcony each morning during my stay. The Peros family have always made us feel welcome even on our first visit in 2001. Breakfast is continental but a cooked breakfast is available at a small charge normal in any Hotel I've visited. The BBQ night is very good value, good fun and worth staying back for. Bar prices, pool bar prices are similair to those in the surrounding bars and tavernas. The resort is quiet if thats what your looking for but, just a short walk to the Harbour area has a very lively number of bars.
The Hotel is just back from the main road within easy walking distance from the beach, tavernas and restraunts and we would recommend the Hotel to anybody.
Mrs Beaton in my view must have stayed at a totally different Hotel or gone there in the off season or she's just plain loko.

Athinoula Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

I have just contacted the hotel to arrange two rooms for myself and Carol and Dave and Val from Corby we are returning yet again two weeks mid August.

We have stayed at the Athinoula every year now since 2001 its our main holiday and we would not be returning if the Hotel was not first class. The Peros family have made us feel welcome every time we have been, the service is excellent, the family treat all guests with respect and when you get to know them well and they get to know you treat you as friends.
I speak to a lot of the other guests and have not encountered many that have a bad thing to say there have been the odd exception but I got the impression that they would have found fault with the Hilton their main complaint was they booked last minute and did not enjoy the Greek way of life, the resort or Island, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Last word for now I would recommend this Hotel, this resort and the Island of Kos to anyone and have for the last four years told anyone who would listen whatever you want in a holiday you can find here quiet laid back relaxing, sporting, walking, adventure, look no further. To all who will be there from 13th August 2005 for two weeks I'll see you there.
