I thought Roula in Kos was great. We were supposed to be in Portugal bur got tied up TWICE (two cancelled flights) in the horrendous stuff at Heathrow on August 10th and again on 12th. Glad that that happened rather that people got blown out of the skies, but the BA and Heathrow staff were absolutely USELESS. No information and really rude.I threw in the towel and booked a last minute thing to Kos from Bristol. The lady in the Roula apartments was really charming - great location, very clean and a lovely pool you can use almost opposite. I am pretty grateful that we managed to salvage something of a holiday - insurance company are not paying up - act of terrorism - so one week in Kos has cost me about £2,500.... by the way she didn't charge us for the fan....

The roula is the strangest accomodation I have ever stayed in. LOCATION - was great, 2 mins from beach and top of bar streetCLEANLINESS - was excellent, always clean n never saw any beasties either
COOKING FACILITIES - were virtually none existent, I have been camping in a field and used better facilities than what was there, although the fridge was good as it worked well and had a built in freezer.
SIZE - room was tiny, although we had the rooftop apartment so the outdoor space was huge but really un-neccessary, would rather have bigger room than a WINDY terrace. - (I could open the fridge and turn the tap in the sink on from my bed)
STAFF- who? for two weeks we never saw one person who worked at the apartments untill the last day. Half an hour before the coach came to get us a greek woman came in asking for 20euros for the fan - (oh yeh, there is no air con, just a fan which circulates the hot air)
RECEPTION - consisted of a doorway in an alley which led to a staircase up to the rooms, no desk or anywhere to go if your electricity goes off (happened a couple of nights) or if you lose your keys or anything.
FINALLY - there is no pool, no reception, there are weird dogs and children who hang around the alley outside, you need a wrench to turn the hot taps on and off, the cutlery and crockery is untrustable (we bought plastic ones from the supermarket nearby), if you stay in the rooftop apartment dont be alarmed to find some kind of weird banana bread stuff (that looked a bit like fish and was hard when you touch it) lying on the side, the doors rattle like crazy in the wind so you need to jam something in them if you want to get to sleep, and you feel completely isolated with no-one to help you if you need it. Apart from that it was a mint holiday.

| We had the roof top apaprtment when we stayed here, you get the whole roof to your self with great views of the mountains, hills, sea & an island out to sea, great location with a great restaurant across the road called the adelfi which is a family run restaurant with fantastic food and service. We would stay at the roula apartments again with out a doubt & are hopeing to go back this year. What more could you want Great Views,Quiet Location with the Beach right on your doorstep and night life close at hand. I would give this 9/10. THE NORWIEGEN CAT WOMEN MEOW | ||||||||||
