laikon - (Restaurants in Kardamena)

Dawn A

Me and my husband have been visiting Kos for 18 years and we always eat at the Laikon.  I agree with all the comments below - fantastic food, reasonably priced (make that cheap!) and lovely family who run it.  Dunno about the "handsome" waiter though, surely you don't mean crazy Nick?!  (I'll tell him I said that when I'm back there in September.)  All the food is freshly made and Zac, the father of the family who is also the chef, grows a lot of it on the family's small holding just outside the village (off the road leading up to the Rahi studios).  The roast lamb is to die for.  If Katerina has made rice pudding with their goats' milk (served cold sprinkled with cinnamon) it is a must.

Buddies - (Bars in Kardamena)

Dawn A

Me and my husband were the bar's first customers when it opened - ooh 18 years ago?  Back in those days it was called Cafe Mere.  We've been just about every year, sometimes twice a year, since then, just to squeeze free drinks out of Andreas, the skinflint

We love the place, the people, the music.  Great atmosphere, strong drinks, a good laugh.  What more can you want.  We've lost track of all the bar staff we've met over the years, but hope to see some old friends when we'll be back again in September.
