Hi I'm going to Lydia in July 2005 and have read both good and bad reports about these apartments. Any up to date reviews would be much appreciated.

S.j. H

does Sakis still work at the Lydia??

Chris & sarah

Add your comment here...  we went to the lydia on the 26th august last year for 2 weeks, we had  a awsum time. the pools lovely and so is the bar, you just had to relax at the pool all day or maybe have a 5-10 min walk down the the beach for a pint. the cleaners come everyday and do a pretty good job. we are looking to go back around the same time this year for another 2 weeks because it was a awsum time to go

Sarah W

I have just returned from Kos, Thanks to Diamond and Lilly for making us feel welcome... and last but not least my "little star" Sakis who I will really miss till next year and im not going drinking with him again!!

i NEED TO SEE A PICTURE OF THIS APARTMENT

Lydia apartments was a pleasant surprise. A beatuiful pool, quite location and very clean. The cleaners come every day and go a great job. Everyone is very friendly. The fact that the place is a 10-15 minute walk from the town is a godsend. Some of the apartments in the centre and too close to the main road and those damn scooters going by all day would do your head in. Don't listen to the reps for booking trips, book them yourself for a third of the price in the harbour. Paradise beach is a great day. A local bus service runs from the old town direct to the beach. It takes 40mins and costs about £2 each way. Tour rep told me there was no beach and to get there I would go on the bus trip organised by them for £12 for the return trip rip off!!.

We have stayed at the Lydia 3 times and going back with our 6 month baby later on this year, what can I say, we love it Mary and Sakis are part of the package what a team, they are good friends of ours who we keep in touch with throughout the year, they even invited us to their wedding but as I was 8 months pregnant we couldn't make it which was a shame. The lydia is great, the pool area is lovely, and the rooms are clean which is all that matters.
Make sure you go to The Caravan for a meal and meet Hassan what a man!!! all I can say is ouzo!!! it is gorgeous We can recommend chicken bekri meze. The Sunburnt Arms on the beach is also lovely and Giannis is very welcoming.
So if you have booked for Lydia relax and enjoy you'll have a brill time.

It is s fundemental human right to have hot water!!!!
While the owner sits in the corner counting his money, we all froze in our showers - thats unless you are prepared to jump in between 4 and 6pm every night.
Rooms very basic, dont have a corner one they are tiny!
Stakis wishes to give his opinion on everything, a bit lik taking te FT on holiday with you - wy does he have to shout all the time?
Came bck 15th May and could not be bothered to start entertainment yet.
Good points are few but Jo the barmaid holds it all together and is great.
Go to The Palace in evenings for fantastic meal and have breakfast and lunch at the Sunburnt Arms up the beach.
It is a bit off the beaten track but at least you dont have to listen to the mopeds all the time - just cockrels and cows.
Pool area is much nicer than the picture in the brochure.
If we g again we will take hypothermia blankets for post showers!!

We went in august for two weeks and i wouldnt go back to Kos. The lydia was ok the place was kept really clean and the entertainment on site was usually very good. One of the down sides was just how far the TREK was in to the town centre at night. We also made some very good friends there who we are still in touch with now. We love going to greece but found that the people were not half as friendly as they are on the other greek islands.

Peter & kelly M

We love Lydia!!!!!! hopefully we will be there next may, nice to see Sakis and Mary are still running the shop! and for those who don't know Diamond owns the place!

It can be a bit of a trek to the harbour and town area but that's why we like it, it's far enough if you want to chill out and stay away from the hustle and bustle!!

If anyone reads this between now and next September (2004) tell Mary and Sakis hello and we'll be back and the reason we haven't been is that we have been extending our family and we'll be needing a 3 bedroom appartment on the ground floor!

Also tell Sakis 'Up the Boro!' 'Europe here we come!'

Simon J

We stayed there for two weeks in september 03 and i have had worse holidays but then again i have had better. The place itself is fine spotless clean and the bar is very reasonable too.Mary and Sakis are great entertainment as well.Watch out for Maria the cleaner she is a right scream she is she had us in stiches most days!

We stayed at the lydia in august 03 for two weeks and the only bad point really was how far away from the main town it actually was. The place was spotless and Mary & Sakis really do make you feel welcome even the cleaners are a right laugh. I'm not quite sure who Diamond & Lilly are who numerous people seem to mention are?

Simon and wendy H

Best place on earth. We are looking foreward to seeing Mary Sakis Diamond and Lily again in September.

Julie H

We went to the Lydia apartments in August 2001. We had a fantastic time. Mary and Zakis were great and really made the holiday. The greek night was good and we were made to feel really welcome. I would recommend anyone to go there. Kos town is lovely, just a short walk away, and the weather was brilliant. We found lots of lovely restaurants and the greeks love kids, so we had no problem taking our 18 month old son.

Mark D

me and my partner spent a week in may at lydia,we had no problems.Mary@sakis are brill, and a lot of fun,the greek night was good,we would go back again and hopfully soon

Lydia apartments is locate very close to the town centre (3 minutes walking distance). It has magnificent and exotic garden. It is unsual to find it that in any other hotels due to the many years of operating. It has specious apartment and daily cleanlines. Every nignt Mary who is the animater of the hotel, she carry out many and fantstic activities such as Karaoke, Quiz night, Bingo, Greek night, Boogie night etc. It is an experience to visit this resort. I advice to you to visit this Apartment Lydia.

John P

fair walk out of town, but been further! people very friendly, Diamond and Lily will make you welcome, as will Mary and Sakis, who virtually run the bar........Greek night is not to be missed, Yannis the dancer is a great laugh...and you ALL join in! Bar prices are ok, there is a small supermarket only 50 yards away if you're on a budget though, but you're on holiday....what the heck.

Jaana K

what are the prices and how long can you stay?

Chris B

the lydia complex was a really nice place with large rooms,a decent kitchin and bathroom and nice balconys you may want to rent some form of transport as it is quite a trek into town, but other than that it has a nice atmosphere and is very plesent>>> chrisxrated@talk21.com
