Myros Hotel

Accommodation in Tingaki

.. Appartments were basic, but very clean and the maids were very good. Very quiet location, about a 10-15 minute walk from Appartments to the main Tingaki Strip, but this was a nice walk alongside the beach. You must see the sunset over the Sea (at approx 8.20pm) Pool Bar was good, with a nice English lady, Teresa running it. She only worked until 5pm which was a shame, as she had bags of personality and two lovely little dogs. The Reception Bar then opened 5pm until late, but had no atmosphere, so didn't use it much. The Manager, a German lady called Silka, was also lovely, and would give as much information about the island / resort as she could. Both Silka and Teresa were able to change Euro Travellers Cheques for you at the hotel. The Pool was lovely and there always seemed to be spare sunbeds when we wanted them (early July). The surrounding grounds around the Apartments were really nice too. All in all, a nice place to stay! .

Just back from the Miros - had a lovely relaxing time.   Teresa on the pool bar was fantastic along with Silke on the reception - whatever they get paid - it is not enough for the amount of work these two ladies do.  Nothing is too much for them to ensure you enjoy your holiday.    Rooms cleaned every day.  Best pillows on a bed we have every had on holiday - there wasn't a lump or bump in them.   Pool area very clean and safe for children.  Play area kept clean and tidy - just watch out on an evening as the gardener uses the sprinklers so this can then make the area very wet.  Olympic rep Kerry was brilliant all the time we were there and saw her most days or evenings.

The only down side was that for a week of our holiday we were the only family with children - which can be a little boring for the children - however this could not be helped and in no way reflects on the hotel or the tour operator.

My partner and I both agree these are some of the best apartments we have stayed in.  We have both travelled the Greek Islands fairly extensively and these far outweigh anything we have booked previously.  The maid service is second to none 6 days a week with towels and linen being changed every couple of days. Staff at the Miros are very friendly and we felt at home straight away.  Being beach people we only spent one day by the pool, but this was also kept nice and clean and the pool bar which is run by a nice english ladyTeresa was welcoming.  If we decide to return to Kos in the future we would certainly not hesitate in booking these apartments again. The location is only minutes from the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest supermaarket.

The water park is situated near to Kos Town and is easily accesible by bus.If catching the bus from outside the Miros apartments, wait on the beach side of the road as you will get a seat. The bus goes to other hotels and comes back via the Miros full of passengers.
Buses are usually on time and regular to Kos Town and from there, the city buses (coloured blue) will take you all round the island.
Noise around the apartments is non-existant at night and the walk home from the square at night is splendid along the road by the beach.
In case you wondered why there is one red streetlamp,it is not an area of ill-repute but a guide for the fisherman to help them back to shore.
Hope that helps and you have a wonderful time.

The studios are fairly new, and well kept. The cleaners did a good job! Nice pool and an excellent location being just across the road from a quiet area of the beach (you have to walk five minutes or so to get to the sunbeds). About 15 minutes into the centre of town (if you can call Tingaki that).

I don't know what caused the comments/complaints about Theresa who runs the pool bar in the daytime. We found her perfectly amicable and helpful, if a little overworked at times. Like lunchtime. Don't order lunch at 1pm expecting it to appear in 5 minutes because it won't happen. When she's not wildly busy she is perfectly happy to stop and chat, have a laugh.

Downside of the studios. Well they are a little small for four people; four full sized beds, not sofa beds (at least they are more comfy than sofa beds). They would suit two adults and one child (or two small children maybe) but there is not much storage space for your belongings. Still if you are not going to spend much time in the studios they will be fine.

click to enlarge A very pleasant and relaxed place to stay.Maid service six days a week with fresh towels and bed linen.
Pool area nice with a snack bar served by Theresa,a lady from Southampton who worked 7 days a week serving quality food and drinks.
She also helps out the 'street dogs' in the resort and has a collection pot to finance her passion on the counter as is grateful for all donations.
Would be more than happy to stay there again.

Excellent time had by all.  Accommodation and complex ideal for families, very close to the beach.  Nice and friendly staff nothing was too much trouble, looked after us all very well.  Rooms cleaned daily and a mountain of toilet paper was provided!  Tingaki has some amazing restaurants Sypros and Meni were our favourites.  See Alan on the beach for a discount on all water sports!  Check out Tingaki Tours for any excursions.  Take plenty of Mozzie spray and a camp bed for Kos Airport!!!!!

We booked this as a last minute holiday, room was superb lovely view of the sea, Turkey and the mountains. Beds creaked but every where we have stayed in Greece the same thing so you get used to it. Mozzies were a problem, as it was so hot my partner wanted the window left open at night to get some air in the room. The Pool side area could have been kept a lot cleaner, empty bottles were still by the pool next morning, surely a dangerous thing to allow, however apart from that a nice quite holiday.

Location of the apartments could'nt have been better.Gerry now runs the bar on an evening and she makes every one welcome and it was great that she kept the bar open late on the Sat we left (3.15am) Beds do creak and groan as others have commented and if you are inclined to get mosquito bites cover up well i had about 20 new ones a day. Rent your car in the town half the price of the reps quote.Would definately recomend the apartments and Tigaki .

We agree with some but not all of the previous comments; the appartment was small for a family of four but this was mentioned when we booked the holiday. Definitely take lots of anti-mossie stuff with you.

The poolside bar/restaurant is now run by a great lady called Mary. She can feed you and handle queries which may arise-especially with hire car firms. And she looks great in jeans!

'The miserable woman' has long gone and the reception bar is now run by a lovely woman called Geri/Teri (never could remember which, must be the Metaxas brandy she introduced me to). Though still quiet, it's a good place to either start or finish an evening out downtown; and she kept the bar open until the coach arrived to take us back to the airport at 2 O'clock in the morning. Many thanks for that!

Incidentally if you enjoy queuing for hours, waiting for overdue planes and watching the passport control police play cards because their luggage scanner is broken (along with the air conditioning and most of the lights) then try Kos international airport. Even Mother Teresa of Calcutta would've ended up shouting and cursing at them.
We'd defintely like to go back to the island and would recommend the hotel to others.

Does anyone know the phone and fax number for Miros Studios?

The rooms (and wardrobe) were on the small side (at least for a family of 4) but were clean and neat. Electric kettle, toilet paper, and plenty of clean towels were all provided, although the cooking facilities were only adequate. The 'miserable English woman' mentioned so often on this site has now gone and the Greek owners were friendly although we didn't see much of them. The pool was good and there always seemed to be plenty of sunloungers even though we were there in August. The pool bar was extremely good value too. Tingaki is a really lovely resort. The restaurants served traditional Greek food and every one we tried was excellent. We loved it!

yes woman a bit poo faced, but she gets busy . but ok...don't see much of them....pool is great, really looked after, play area for kids...we went on our own, as a couple. don't take more than one or two kids, you have to stay in same rooms! but kept clean...you are left well alone that was great for us..... right across from the beach, nice and quiet, grounds looked after well, lovely flowers, out apartment opened up onto pool...bit of a walk but you get used to it...check out theokritos travel for all exursions. mascot bar best bar, say hi to kristov and theo...very friendly place tingaki, nice people, easy going, shame to come back to england...no crime there, only saw one police car in whole week...tourists are the only crime......great holiday in all...10/10

Loved Miros studios but not that awful woman who works there!! All she did was moan, she didnt make people feel welcome and she ruined my only holiday of the year!!!!!!! Anyone feel the same????

Apts. have new sheets/towels and are cleaned regularly. In a good position, 5 mins away from the beach and 10 mins away from the town. Helpful staff but the bar is not that lively and there were cheaper places to drink in the town. Salads and toasties as bar meals were good, sunbeds not too comfortable, take thick towels or buy a lilo to soften the blow! Beds squeaky, tried washing up liquid but suggest you take WD40! Tingaki itself not the prettiest of towns but has a good sand beach and seems popular with German tourists. Plenty of places to eat, most serving the same fare, mainly with chips. Recommend Tigaki Grill, Ampeli (turn right and head out of the town)and a place just beyond Tigaki Grill with a sign in Greek (surprise!) which has a picture of 3 male Greek dancers on it if you like fewer chips and more trad dishes. No hangovers from teh house wine - hurrah! Mossies are rife, take precautions. Hiring a bike is the best way to see the island although the buses are cheap, hire them from a place in the town not the ones nearest the apts. as it is cheaper. Tours are cheaper from the town rather than through the rep. Don't expect free tipples with the bill (boo!) as you get in Crete. Didn't find the natives as friendly as those we met in Crete/Rhodes but it was the end of a long season. Not much in Kos town. Saw some great butterflies, birds and flowers not to mention some interesting mammals on the nudist beach on the way to Marmari! Had a good holiday but we probably won't go back to Kos.
